Time to Digitize

Time to Digitize

Time is destroying your videotape material. Videotape is vulnerable to dust, moister, handling, temperature, and magnetic fields from electronics. Over time your material on your videotape will be affected and can begin to show video and audio errors, even if the videotape hadn’t been played in years.

To prevent the loss of your material, it’s important to digitize your video tapes. Our process delivers the highest quality Apple ProRes 422 HQ files to help protect your material against loss, saving your valuable library assets.

Closed Captioning

Standard methods of digitizing videotape strip away Closed Captioning data, leaving your video file no longer FCC compliant. As of 2012, the FCC requires captioning be present on most material broadcast on television or streaming on the internet.

The cost of re-captioning your video files can far exceed the cost of digitizing. LAmediafiles digitizing process preserves the Closed Captioning data of your videotape. Our digitizing process, that preserves closed captioning data, can be a substantial cost savings feature to meet FCC requirements.
